2024-07-17/18 - UK - Luton - Biochemical Society - Protein Purification Symposium

We are elated to announce that Biotrend is proud to Sponsore the Protein Purification and Biophysical Characterisation Symposium, That's taking place in the University of Bedfordshire, Luton on 17th and 18th of July 2024.

Attendees will gain hands-on experience of cell lysis using the TS5 cell disrupter from Constant Systems; protein purification using AKTA systems and Unicorn software; the analysis of protein – ligand interactions using the NanoTemper Monolith and the new multi wavelength Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Optima analytical ultracentrifuge (AUC). Short lectures will provide background theory on the techniques used.

We offer a wide variety of grants and bursaries to help you attend this event and save money on registration fees! Support is available to cover registration, livestream, accessibility, companion costs and more. Also, free Lunch, coffee break and a dinner event are offered during thos gathering.

Protein purification and biophysical characterization of the obtained protein are two major disciplines of modern biochemistry, both widely used in fundamental academic research and industry. The equipment used to purify proteins continues to evolve in terms of functionality and utility. This training, organized at the STEM building of the University of Bedfordshire,

This Symposium aims to :

  • Expose participants to the latest equipment necessary for protein purification and biophysical measurements.
  • Discuss advanced techniques and methodologies used for protein purification, such as chromatography, electrophoresis, and filtration methods.
  • Explore various biophysical techniques and assays to study the structure, dynamics, interactions, and function of proteins.
  • Provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and fostering partnerships among researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students interested in protein science.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with:

Cell lysis using the TS5 cell disruptor from Constant Systems.
Protein purification using AKTA systems and Unicorn software.
Analysis of protein-ligand interactions using the NanoTemper Monolith and the new Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Optima (AUC) multi-wavelength analytical ultracentrifuge.
Short lectures will provide theoretical insights into the techniques used.

We offer a wide range of grants and scholarships to help you attend this event and save on registration fees! Assistance is available to cover registration, livestream, accessibility, companion costs, and more.
