Centrimide is prepared according to this formula with the addition of Centrimide (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide). Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium, cationic detergent with limited disinfectant action. It causes nitrogen and phosphorus to be released from the bacterial ceII. This germicidal activity is effective on most microorganisms except Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
