ELISA Kit Principle | The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) level in the sample or standard. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

ELISA Kit Reproducibility | Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Matrix Metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. NCBI Gene Id | 4322 |
Protein Name | Collagenase 3 |
Description of Target | Plays a role in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins including fibrillar collagen, fibronectin, TNC and ACAN. Cleaves triple helical collagens, including type I, type II and type III collagen, but has the highest activity with soluble type II collagen. Can also degrade collagen type IV, type XIV and type X. May also function by activating or degrading key regulatory proteins, such as TGFB1 and CTGF. Plays a role in wound healing, tissue remodeling, cartilage degradation, bone development, bone mineralization and ossification. Required for normal embryonic bone development and ossification. Plays a role in the healing of bone fractures via endochondral ossification. Plays a role in wound healing, probably by a mechanism that involves proteolytic activation of TGFB1 and degradation of CTGF. Plays a role in keratinocyte migration during wound healing. May play a role in cell migration and in tumor cell invasion. |
