p53 (Antigen NY-CO-13, BCC7, Cellular Tumor Antigen p53, LFS1, TP53, Transformation Related Protein 53 (TRP53), Tumor Protein p53, Tumor Suppressor p53) (FITC)

Recognizes a conserved determinant of the p53 protein. Its epitope maps near the C-terminus end (aa 370-378) of p53. It has been used successfully to immunoprecipitate p53 oncoprotein complexes with simian virus 40 (SV40) large T antigen. Reportedly, this antibody precipitated the most ATPase-active form of T. p53 is a tumor suppressor gene expressed in a wide variety of tissue types and is involved in regulating cell growth, replication, and apoptosis. It binds to MDM2, SV40 T antigen and human papilloma virus E6 protein. Mutations involving p53 are found in a wide variety of malignant tumors, including breast, ovarian, bladder, colon, lung, and melanoma.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Flow Cytometry (Not Tested), Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
