-20°CThis MAb is specific to ER alpha and shows minimal cross-reaction with other members of the family. ER is an important regulator of growth and differentiation in the mammary gland. Presence of ER in breast tumors indicates an increased likelihood of response to anti-estrogen (e.g. tamoxifen) therapy. This MAb is excellent for staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded breast carcinomas.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml for 2 hours at RT|Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed): 1-2ug/ml for 30 minutes at RT (IHC recommended)|(Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes)|Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.||Positive Control:|MCF-7 Cells or Breast Cancers.||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
